5th Grade is working on a radial symmetry project. They used a compass to create four concentric circles. Using a ruler they divided the circles into eight sections. Students got to create any design they wanted to as long as it was the same in all eight sections. Once their design is complete we make copies and they color one with warm colors (red, orange, yellow and pink), one with cool colors (blues, purples and greens), and one with the neutral colors (black, white,  gray and brown).

Kindergarten painted rainbows  with the three primary colors, RED, YELLOW and BLUE. They had to mix the secondary colors.

1st Grade learned about the artist Georgia O'Keeffe. They looked at her flower paintings and noticed that she looked at them close up and they took up the whole page. First graders then looked at their own flowers and drew them large on their paper. They used a wax resist technique to add color.
